Explore Omaha

Design Process

This project originally began as a small postcard project. I chose to make it a part of a campaign “sponsored” by the Greater Omaha Chamber, called “Explore Omaha”, to promote tourism and local pride in Omaha, Nebraska. The initial goal was to create four visually engaging postcards that highlighted important/interesting parts of the city, including the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Lauritzen Gardens, and popular locations in the downtown area; each location photographed by me.

As the project developed, the campaign expanded beyond postcards into a larger promotional branding system. Additional mockups were then created, including souvenir keychains and a travel brochure, to show how the branding could extend across multiple forms of merchandise and promotional media. The brochure allowed for more detailed information about Omaha’s attractions, while the keychains added a collectible and tourist-oriented aspect to the campaign. Overall, the campaign is supposed to have a consistent style all across each promotional item.
